As we continue through Spring, new energy is beginning to bloom at Roots Yoga and Healing! We are so excited to welcome two new thoughtful offerings designed to support your body, calm your mind, and strengthen your resilience. Whether you’re brand new to yoga or looking to deepen an existing routine, our classes and workshops are designed for all!
Chair Yoga: Gentle & Accessible
Thursdays at 10am
Led by Vickie Daoust, Chair Yoga is a beautiful reminder that yoga is truly for every body, making it remarkably accessible for all, regardless of limitations. This class offers a supportive way to safely experience the many benefits of yoga without needing to get up from the floor.
Sessions will intertwine accessible poses and attendees will be engaged through mindful breathwork and gentle movements. Not only does Chair Yoga support joint and muscle health, but it works to calm the nervous system and aims to improve overall well-being. It’s also fun!
We are so grateful that Vickie will be leading these sessions, bringing her warmth, wisdom and deep understanding of yoga. Vickie has been a yoga student for 50 years and a dedicated yoga instructor for 8 at the ADRC in Door County. She holds 200 hours of training in Sivananda Yoga and is currently training with Kristine Weber at Subtle Yoga online. Her background and commitment to a healthy body and mind will make the class both enriching, grounding, and an innovative tool to support healthy aging and daily vitality.
Yoga Therapeutics: Move, Restore, Rebalance
Mondays at 9am
Offered through September, Yoga Therapeutics will focus on strengthening muscles that support the spine and joints. Together, these movements will improve mobility in the hips, knees, shoulders and neck. Participants will feel a release of stored tension and the class will help to cultivate balance and stability.
This class has been abundantly designed with intention, to help you move better, feel better, and live better. Led by Mary Hilliker, each session will blend yoga postures, simple breathing practices, and guided relaxation to create a holistic healing experience.
With 27 years of teaching experience and 17 years in Yoga Therapy, Mary will bring a deeply personalized and practical approach to the studio. As a Certified Viniyoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist, she empowers yogis of all skill levels with tools they can use beyond the mat!
