As the air cools and the trees become painted with nature's watercolors, we begin to see and feel that seasonal shift. While it is a subtle reminder that winter is looming, autumn gives us a beautiful backdrop and even more, an opportunity for a wholesome transformative experience.

Whether you choose to stretch out in our studio or retreat to your favorite spot outdoors, the profound benefits of practicing yoga in fall will have you reaching for the skies!

Your Equilibrium Balances 
As the temperatures shift, it often encourages us to slow down, too. This grounding practice aligns with our environment to foster a connection to nature. Seek a dose of tranquility and solitude to not only balance your equilibrium, but to harmonize your body, mind and spirit. 

The state of calmness that yoga brings can also work to combat stress; despite any schedule changes, it is an inevitable part of life. Taking a few moments each week to devote to yoga is a celebrated - and relaxing - form of self care. 

Immunity is Naturally Boosted
According to the American Lung Association, the average adult suffers from two to four colds per year, which peak in the month of September. Yoga can naturally boost your immunity to seasonal viruses when combined with hygienic practices and a healthy, balanced diet.

Through gentle stretching and even more advanced poses, yoga’s breathing awareness can help to stabilize the respiratory system by improving blood flow and increasing lung efficiency. The lymphatic system is also stimulated which assists in removing toxins from the body. Best of all, yoga reduces pro-inflammatory markers such as IL-1beta and together, the benefits strive to present a healthier you all around.

As the fall equinox arrives and we find ourselves in the season of Vata, yoga inspires us to do something rather reformative and inwardly beneficial - to be intentional in all that we choose to do!

Instead of juggling a hectic calendar and endless to-do list, this time of year encourages us to hone in on one task at a time. That task could be a project around your home, enjoying a weekly yoga or meditation session, or even  preparing a warm cooked meal packed with vitamins and nutrients or sipping on a cup of soothing tea.

Alongside the notable benefits, yoga provides our minds a moment to be mindful, our bodies time to appreciate, and our souls to replenish. Take in the beauty of nature outside or bask in the stillness in our studio; no matter how you welcome fall, yoga will help you embrace change!
